Job Description: The purpose of this role is to ensure the profitability of the organization of an MLC in African countries every year or to recruit a CEO practically for all countries where the BCA operates.
About MLC
MLC is a high-impact learning and networking event for growth-oriented African business leaders. Gathering of African Business Founders, CEOs, Managing Directors and Managing Directors. The MLC offers a unique opportunity for current African business leaders to develop their capacity to exchange, learn and challenge ideas, thereby laying the foundation for future business alliances and partnerships.
Roles
MLC Program Manager Reporting to the General Manager of BCA, will play an important role in the planning and organization of the annual MLCs across the continent. To do this, you need to be someone who can bring creativity, collaboration, good taste and energy to the BCA team. In this role, you will lead the MLC organization in cities across the African continent, year after year. You will focus on sourcing vendors, securing the best pricing, securing sponsors as well as the overall end-to-end experience for MLC attendees, from registration to conference attendance, engagement and fully paid BCA membership. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including the chosen country's cohort coordinator, to bring the event to life.
Responsibilities
Before the MLC
1. Develop the event concept and plan the annual MLC by:
Gather information about the event, including speakers, venue, attendees, etc. Maximum discount possible
2. Develop an overall budget and stay within budget by identifying opportunities to reduce or shift costs to ensure the program stays within budget.
3. Work with cohort coordinators to identify sponsors and negotiate sponsorship agreements
4. Design, content and production of all promotional activities necessary for the conduct of the MLC
5. Organization of speaker and delegate packages
6. Secure reservation of accommodation, travel and all the logistics necessary for the event
7. Sending invitations via Facilitate the registration of participants, reminders, etc.
8. Create a social media platform to engage current and future MLC participants throughout the calendar year.
9. Organize with Host Cohort Coordinator and BCA CEO during MLC Updates monthly and weekly.
1. Ensure all logistics are in place including branding, merchandise, shipping, etc. required for the conference
2. Ensure transparent registration and participation of all participants and speakers
3. Ensure appropriate media coverage of the event
point person for all MLC participants and stakeholders to solve all the problems, etc.
AFTER the MLC
1. Prepare a report on the MLC and develop a plan for the next meeting.
2. Provide personalized thank you to attendees and sponsors
3. Gather and organize all recommended CEOs to be noticed at the next MLC.
4. Recruit attendees/participants who are not registered BCA members not in BCA By coordinating with respective queue coordinators
5. Keep MLC social media accounts busy with snippets of MLC events
